Visiting London last month
I came across an interesting English artist
— Dante Gabriel Rossetti (Painter & Writer/1828 - 1882)
He had two women
One was his wife
The other was his muse, an inspiration for his artworks
He disregarded his wife
Always went to the muse
His wife, depressed, overdosed and passed away at 32
He deeply regretted and
did a few things for requiem, or to compensate
One was
painting her portrait, which became one of his significant paintings
The other was
placing his unpublished poems in her coffin
Years passed
He wished to release that poems in wife's coffin
He unearthed her coffin, opened it, took out the poems
And published
That poetry became the most successful & acclaimed work in his writing career
But for the rest of his life,
he suffered from the deep guilt
His mind collapsed into illness and addiction
And at the age of 53, he passed away
.......Extraordinary egoism & Extraordinary selfishness
Yet, strangely "human"
