Social media de-stabilises our relationships
9/October/2025 in Kraków
(*This writing was originally released in one of my social media )
Social media lets us "Disconnect" from each other, instead of "Connect"
This is a well-known irony about this online era
We are "supposed to" be connected the most
But the level of loneliness is the highest, somehow
I personally feel
social media also de-stabilises our relationships with others
Makes a relationship fragile
Because
we are "forced to know" things that we don't really have to know
There are lots of things we don't have to know
about friends, family members, or strangers
Yet, social media can reveal them and force us to know them
Prime example is my writing here
I know there are people who enjoy my delusional nonsense
But also, there are certainly people who actually don't want to know about my views on things
By publishing here
I "force others to know" something about me that they have never asked me to tell
The same goes to me
There are things that it'd be overall better if I didn't know something about him/her
