The day she sees a 'real family'

This ex-girlfriend of mine
from a long time ago

She was an adopted child,
when she was less than 1 year old

Never met her "real" parents, "real" brother/sister

And with the adoptive parents, she had a bad relationship

Something I was slightly — or perhaps greatly — bothered about her

was

her overly strong enthusiasm for the idea of "family" or "forming a family"

I didn't understand — or rather, I didn't want to understand — this mentality of hers

One day I was in my room alone (I was still dating her then) and thought;

"..........when she has a baby..........the day she gets her own baby, that will be the first time in her life she sees a 'real family'.........."
