Her Voice

Last year in Kraków

I met her a few times

Every time,
what caught my attention was
her voice

Fragile, faint, whisper-like voice

She is a singer

A couple of days ago,
I met her

For the first time in almost 1 year

In a cafe,
she was talking about something

While listening,
vaguely I was remembering;

"........Last year, her voice always grabbed my attention"

"But today, up until now,
I forgot about her voice........"

She was talking about her recent breakup

• Her first relationship

• 3 years

• Ended by her

• "For a long time, everyone around me said I should break up with him. But I wasn't aware at all how bad it was.......until recently"

"Did he contact you after the breakup?"

I asked

"Yes"

She said. And quickly added

"I blocked him"

"I blocked him"

This line reached to my ears with spring-like fresh brightness

Probably even my eyes opened slightly wider

"I blocked him"

Last year,
she was definitely not a girl who could say this line,
definitely not in this careless way

Last year,
she definitely didn't have this strength & decisiveness

Several hours later

In my hotel room, alone

I was remembering our meeting

Her words
Her attitude
Her behaviours
Her body
.......every aspects of her surely gave off a certain lightness

"Lightness"
from being liberated from the relationship

Often a woman looks like this

Often a woman, who recently gets out of a relationship, has this air & vibe

This lightness
& This optimism

"I blocked him"

I was remembering that supreme line

It surely sounded like "a woman"
It surely indicted this fact: "She is a woman"

That strong-ness & decisiveness was surely a trait of a woman. Not a man

Felt like
I was reading a nice short summer story
about a naive inexperienced girl
found her own way
& growing into a woman

She changed
So did her voice
