Stolen by her

The other day

In the contemporary museum

I saw this painting;

Koszyczek Babuni (Martyna Borowiecka / 2023) "

And I thought
"Painters..........such a scary existence"

Before the museum

I was in a cafe, saw someone drawing a storyboard

Talked to her & turned out, she was;

— Art university student
— From Luhansk, Ukraine
— Planning to make an animation, and so making the storyboard

Had a chat & walked for an hour together

..........subconsciously I categorised her as a "painter" just because she could draw

After we parted,
I visited the museum and
saw the painting

Woman’s hand hanging from the centre

Looked very "real"

This "real" does NOT mean
it looked like an actual woman's hand

It means
I got the same sensation as when I see an attractive female hand in real

In other words,
the core attraction of woman's hand was
secretly stolen & fully captured here
by the painter

For a while,
I was intoxicated by this painted beauty

But soon, I felt
"Painters..........such a scary existence"

They observe this much

so precisely
so meticulously —

to the point where
they can steal the core attraction, the core beauty from reality
& fix it on the canvas like this

..........I was remembering that Ukrainian girl

And wondering
what part of myself she'd stolen from me
