I’ve kept "beatified" & "romanticised" the suicide of Mishima Yukio
But in reality
nobody knows why someone commits suicide
And more importantly
nobody has the right to comment on another person’s suicide — whether it’s criticism or admiration
My view on Mishima’s suicide is as unstable as a teenager’s changeable mind
One day I feel like
Mishima achieved what he had dreamed of, or something no one else ever could
Another day I feel like
Mishima was in a "crisis" as a 45-year-old middle-aged man,
specifically regarding the quality of his last novels & his own future
