Our Life Purpose

A year ago, I had a cold

I recovered soon, but
I lost my sense of smell

My nose became dysfunctional

That was when I realised;

"Nose is such a luxurious organ"

Nose is the most luxurious

because, our lives still go on as usual

We don't need special help from others,
unlike when we lose eyesight or hearing

However,
the quality of my life dropped. Drastically

I could no longer taste food
I could no longer smell flowers
I could no longer feel intoxication from a woman's perfume

Months later,
my sense of smell slowly returned

And I began to notice;

".........Eyes. Nose. Ears. Mouth. And skin.......these 5 senses exist here, in order to receive what this World gives us"

"Our eyes, nose, ears, mouth & skin are the gateways that let us interact with the World"

Then, one day,
I visited a small park nearby Tokyo where
I saw my favourite animal, chipmunks

And I was almost astonished by the fact;

Chipmunks have eyes, nose, ears, mouth

".........Even such a small animal
even such a tiny head is
fully equipped with
these highly complex organs.........for seeing, smelling, hearing, tasting.........all for connecting us with the World"

"What is life all about?"
"What is the life purpose for all living existence?"

My answer;
"To fully taste this World with all our senses"
"To fully participate in this ongoing exchange between self & the World"
