Two ways to hide oneself

Be quiet
Don't speak too much
Don't give information to others

Be talkative
Speak as much as possible
Give too much information to others. Then they will not know what is true about you

A decade ago in London, I was dating a Polish girl. She was so talkative and kept talking about something all the time, like a radio
However, no matter how much I listened to her, I didn't feel like I was able to see "her" clearer. I couldn't really see anything fundamental about her
And I remembered she'd said a couple of time, "I'm afraid of silence"
It probably meant, her endless talk could be her way to cope with silence, in other words, for protecting herself, hiding herself
