Visited the countryside & felt guilty

Visited grandparent's place last month

7 hours away from Tokyo
Very countryside of Japan

What I noticed was

roads are relatively well-maintained
various services are still available
unique culture/history remains in the very remote location

Then, I felt some guilty 

Because
all of this was made possible by (partly or largely) the large number of population
yet it's decreasing drastically
and yet I have zero intention to improve it by doing "conventional" things, such as......
