28/October/2024 in Kraków
Reading my diary from July
Nearly 4 months has passed
since I came to Kraków
About my rough impressions I wrote in July
―Tourist
―Camera
―Walkable
―High buildings
―Left & Right
(Extra: fashionable Polish men)
―Tourist
I saw much more tourists from the Middle East this year
Comparing to 2020, or even 2023
it certainly increased
―Camera
This year, I noticed CCTV/surveillance camera is everywhere
Sometimes multiple mobile surveillance cameras in a tiny cafe
And some morbid feeling occurs
The same feeling I often feel in Tokyo
A certain suffocating feelings
The city becomes safer
but suffocating
―Walkable
"Walkable"
is such a suitable word to describe
Kraków
From A to B, one can just walk
Last year,
I often used the public transportation
But this year,
my hotel is quite close to the city centre and I've used trams/bus a couple of times
"Walkable" is not a word to be used
for Tokyo, or even for Warsaw
―High buildings
There are really no high buildings in Kraków
This makes me wonder
if this is really country's 2nd biggest city
How economy works without typical office buildings, which are usually high buildings
My hometown/just one district in Tokyo
has more & taller buildings than the entire Kraków
―Left & Right
Something I noticed last year in Kraków
was
Almost all the time
......without realising it......
I walk on the left side
on the street/corridor
And I'm often about to bump into others
Cars runs on the right side here
And seems
pedestrians/walking people roughly do the same
In Japan
cars run on the left side
Probably that's why I tend to walk on the left side
―Fashionable Polish men
Now it's October. Autumn
These days
everyday
I see quite fashionable Polish men on the street
Sometimes I even look back
In summer
I saw only big macho guys with T-shirt & short & flip-flops
