Rome & Kyoto

Rome was overwhelming

Even if the one knows nothing about history of Rome, it's impossible not to feel a force & weight of history

History is accumulated in every single comers of the city

My stay in Rome was very short, but it felt almost too much

Then Kyoto

After 1 week, slowly but surely I got some similar feeling about Kyoto

There are many.....too many.....temples, shrines & historical monuments here

But somehow I don't feel it's overwhelming, unlike in Rome, but feel something calm, quiet & tranquil

Perhaps because this is the nature of Japanese or Asian culture

Perhaps because these historical, cultural & traditional things are

what I am made from
what my existence is based on
& what makes me "me"
