Time & Sadness: Belarus

On 1st January 2025,
I was reading newspaper

They listed "Big Events in the world in 2025"

What caught my eye was;

"26th January: Presidential Election in Belarus"

First. Surprised
how fast time passed since August 2020

Then. Sadness
spread out in my mind

........What had changed in this 5 years?

........For what, to where, did "their" sacrifices, emotions & tears go?
