Hiding & Revealing Body(different fashion senses: 1)

Summer in Europe

Something always comes to my mind is,

Different fashion senses in Europe & Japan

Simply put,
fashion in Europe is very "dependant" on one's body

Showing skin
Emphasising body lines

Naturally,
their clothing tends to be simplistic

On the other hand,
fashion in Japan is very "dependant" on one's clothes

Japanese tries to hide their skin & body lines

Naturally,
their clothing tends to be decorative

Japanese doesn't appreciate things that are
so opened, so revealed, so exposed to the outside

They much prefer things that are
hidden,
indirect,
and, most importantly, implied

........This must be the source of their infamous Hentai nature

Then,
a very interesting question I was asked the other day was

"So, you are from a country where hiding skin is a cultural norm

"Are you excited here in Poland where lots of women are revealing their body?"

I'm used to these European's fashion already
Also I understood different cultural values exist here

However,
I'm apparently Japanese
and the very core of my existence is awfully stained with the Japanese culture where

"Hidden" is preferred
Ambiguity is favoured
And implication is very appreciated

And from this perspective,

"Lack of sophistication"

is the sentiment I get
rather than "Excitement",
when seeing Europeans revealing their skins

And I'm certain
this is the sentiment most Japanese in Japan feel
when they see normal average ordinary Europeans

Their clothing looks
too simple, or
too direct, or
too practical, or simply
boring

The same principle can be found almost everywhere in Japanese culture & their daily life

Looks like

Japanese gets excitement from the process.........from "Hidden" to "Exposed"........
rather than actual things inside

And if it's open from the beginning,
they aren't so pleased

because it doesn't allow them to
imagine
expect
& dream

Then,
if I call European fashion "Lack of sophistication" or "too direct", or "boring",
do Japanese always look good?

My answer is,

fashion is not only about one's clothing,
but it's a combination of one's outlook as well as inner state/emotions

Combination of "Wearing" & "Feeling"

And in this regard,
although Japanese seemingly looks good,
very often their overall vibe is
very nervous
very awkward
very timid

Because..........(To be continued: Next)
